BANDARLAMPUNG News - Status Waspada Level II Gunung Marapi, masih belum dicabut Badan Geologi Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi (BGPVMB). Pagi ini, Minggu (28/08), gunung api yang terletak di Koto Baru, Kecamatan X Koto, Sumatera Barat itu kembali mengeluarkan asap putih tebal.

Asap putih yang membumbung dengan ketinggian sekitar 100 meter itu berlangsung dari Pukul 09.00 WIB hingga Pukul 10.00 WIB. Sebelumnya, sekitar sepuluh menit, pada Pukul 08.00 WIB Gunung Marapi mengeluarkan asap hitam pekat.

Aktivitas Gunung Marapi dipantau BGPVMB dengan menggunakan 3 Seismograf yang terpasang pada ketinggian 2.000 meter. Sementara Digital Analog dipasang pada ketinggian 1.500 meter.

Seperti dikethaui, Gunung Marapi pada 3 Agustus 2011 mengeluarkan abu vulkanik dengan ketinggian mencapai 1.000 meter yang menjangkau Kabupaten Agam, Tanahdatar, Pariaman, Padangpariaman, dan Padangpanjang. Sumber berita

仁和地震 日本で再び発生した

東日本大震災規模とされる平安時代の貞観（じょうがん）地震（８６９年）や関東直下型地震、東海・東南海・南海地震の３連動とみられる仁和（にんな）地震など９世紀に起きた地震が、阪神大震災（平成７年）以降の地震の状況と酷似していることが、産業技術総合研究所の寒川（さんがわ）旭（あきら）・招聘（しょうへい）研究員（地震考古学）の分析でわかった。近い将来に首都圏直下型や３連動型地震が起きる可能性が高いとの見解を示し、「千年に一度の巨大地震の世紀になるかもしれない」と警鐘を鳴らす。

　寒川氏は、古代以降の文献史料とともに、各地の遺跡で発掘された地割れや液状化現象による噴砂などの地震痕跡を調査。９世紀前半に関東北部や東北などでマグニチュード（Ｍ）７前後の地震が相次いだ後、貞観地震が発生していることを確認した。

貞観地震は当時の歴史書「日本三代実録」に、「海は猛（たけ）り吼（ほ）え、津波が怒濤（どとう）のように多賀城下に押し寄せ、千人がおぼれ死んだ」と記述。当時の海岸から約５キロ内陸の多賀城跡（宮城県多賀城市）周辺では道路が寸断された跡が見つかり、仙台市などでは津波で運ばれた堆積物もあった。

　８７８年には関東南部でＭ７以上の直下型地震が発生。８８７年の仁和地震では、日本三代実録に「都（京都）の建物は倒壊し、圧死する者多数。海岸には海潮（津波）が押し寄せ、無数の人がおぼれ死んだ。大阪湾岸も津波被害が甚大だった」と記録。東海から四国にかけて甚大な被害があったという。

　寒川氏の分析によると、最近数十年間に秋田などで死者１００人以上を出した日本海中部地震（昭和５８年、Ｍ７・７）や阪神大震災（Ｍ７・３）、新潟県中越沖地震（平成１９年、Ｍ６・８）など各地でＭ７前後の地震があり、その後東日本大震災が発生した点が、平安時代の状況と共通していると指摘した。

　首都圏直下型地震や東海・東南海・南海地震について寒川氏は、いずれもフィリピン海プレートの影響下にあり関連が深く、過去の首都圏直下型や仁和地震に匹敵する３連動型地震が発生する可能性が高いとした。

　また、６月３０日に長野県中部で起きた震度５強の地震は、千年あまり活動がなかった牛伏寺（ごふくじ）断層付近で発生。７月５日にも和歌山県北部で震度５強の地震があったことからも日本列島が活動期にあることが改めて浮き彫りになった。

　一方、古代以降、Ｍ８・２程度の元禄関東地震（１７０３年）や３連動型の宝永地震（１７０７年）があった「１８世紀初め」、安政東海地震（１８５４年）や、高さ９メートルの津波が襲ったという翌日の安政南海地震、死者１万人といわれる安政江戸地震（１８５５年）が起きた「幕末」にも巨大地震が集中したが、三陸沖では東日本大震災に匹敵する地震はなかった。

　寒川氏は「東日本大震災では『想定外』という言葉がしばしば使われたが、文献史料には過去の巨大地震が詳しく記されており、決して想定外ではない」と話した。

The Singapore hairstylist who made false claims of styling the hair of Hollywood A-lister Nicole Kidman is in trouble again.
Mr Jonal Chong’s plush salon in Orchard Central has been repossessed and shuttered by its landlord, Far East Organization, for failing to pay rent on time.
The salon, Jonal Chong Hair Couture – now listed as Jonah Choong Hair Couture in the mall’s directory – has been closed since last Friday.
When my paper visited the salon on Sunday evening, the salon’s equipment, furniture and cash register were still visible through the mesh shutters.
A repossession notice pasted on the closed shutters read: “This unit is therefore now in the possession of Orchard Central Pte Ld.”
Customer Sandra Tan, who bought a $500 package with the salon just last month, was shocked to learn about the news.
“I purchased the package because the staff assured me that the salon had a good credit rating,” said Ms Tan, 38, an administrative assistant.
She approached the concierge at the customer-service counter for help and was given two mobile-phone numbers to call. She was given a third number after she told the management that the first two numbers were no longer in use. However, calls to the third number went unanswered, while attempts by my paper to contact Mr Chong also proved futile.
Since the salon was repossessed, “quite a number” of customers have approached the front desk for assistance, said a concierge.
It is not clear how much Mr Chong owes in rent, or how many customers have been left in the same predicament as Ms Tan.
In January, Mr Chong was exposed by my paper to have made false claims about being Kidman’s “exclusively appointed hairstylist”.

TOKYO, Jun (Reuters) - Japan on Tuesday pledged to overhaul regulation of nuclear power, saying that lax standards and poor oversight had contributed to the worst nuclear accident since Chernobyl in 1986
Japanese officials from embattled Prime Minister Naoto Kan on down have been widely criticized for their handling of the nuclear disaster, triggered by a March 11 quake and tsunami, which has prompted a complete rethink on the future of nuclear energy in the quake-prone country.
The government report, which will be presented to the International Atomic Energy Agency, promised to set up an independent nuclear regulatory agency, breaking the long-criticized ties between the Japanese utility industry and officials overseeing its safety.
"What's most important for Japan to rebuild its trust is to transparently communicate to the international community about this accident," Kan told a meeting of cabinet ministers.
As an immediate step, Japan's Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency announced new safety measures that utilities will have to show by this month how they will be enforced, officials said.
Currently, Japan is running only 19 of 54 reactors in operation before the disaster at the Fukushima Daiichi plant, raising the risk of deep power shortages into 2012.
Local officials government have been waiting for new safety standards to be introduced and implemented before approving a restart of the remaining reactors.
In a draft report earlier this month, the IAEA said Japanese officials had underestimated the threat from tsunamis to coastal nuclear plants.
The tsunami that crashed into the plant after the 9.0-magnitude earthquake has been estimated at around 14 meters (46 ft), nearly two-and-a-half times the height of the protective wall at Fukushima.
The quake and tsunami alone killed about 24,000 people.
Three reactors at the complex went into meltdown when power and cooling functions at the complex failed, forcing the evacuation of some 80,000 people and an effort to stabilize the plant expected to continue until at least January.
The IAEA report had urged Japan to reform its system of nuclear regulation so that the agency overseeing nuclear safety is independent of the ministry charged with promoting it.
Japan will present its official report to the Vienna-based U.N. watchdog at a meeting later this month, and another panel of Japanese experts is preparing its own analysis of the accident.
In 2007, the IAEA was ignored when it called on Japan to create a more powerful and independent nuclear regulator and clarify the responsibilities of the four government agencies involved in plant safety.
Japan has also been widely criticized for a halting and incomplete disclosure of key information about the plant and the plume of radiation that successive explosions produced.
In the most recent example, officials from Japan's Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency said on Monday that the Fukushima accident had generated more than twice as much radiation they had previously estimated.
The new estimate of 770,000 terabecquerels of radiation is more than seven times the amount of radiation produced by Three Mile Island accident in the United States but still just 15 percent of the estimated discharge at Chernobyl.
The Japanese report said the confused lines of responsibility complicated the early response. Policies on how to manage nuclear accidents were established in 1992 but never reviewed or strengthened, it said.read more
