Sir Mick Jagger, the legendary frontman for The Rolling Stones, turns 68 today, and despite what critics say, he's still doing what he does best--rocking out.

Much of the recent focus on The Stones has been on that more than 50-year-old public rift between Jagger and bandmate Keith Richards. But Jagger keeps rocking on--despite the critics who have been telling him for years that it's time to finally hang up the microphone. In true rockstar fashion, Jagger likes proving people--especially his critics--wrong.

Last year, Jagger recorded a new version of "Plundered My Soul" for the "Exile on Main St." re-release. Not to mention the album of his new supergroup, SuperHeavy, is coming out later this year.

Sir Mick was the poster-boy of seemingly endless energy when he was younger, but he's managed to maintain his work ethic and magnetic charisma throughout his more-than fifty-year career. Jagger's last tour with The Rolling Stones, 2005's "A Bigger Bang," was the second-highest grossing tour of all time, and the album was a critical success.

And over the years, Jagger's been a consent source of musical inspiration for popular and indie artists alike. Ke$ha sings about kicking her suitors "to the curb unless they look like Mick Jagger," in her breakthrough hit, "Tik Tok." Meanwhile, Maroon 5's Adam Levine and pop-diva Christina Aguilera wish they had "Moves Like Jagger."

We're celebrating Mick's birthday with a look-back at some of his most memorable moments and career highlights. Take a look below
